About Me

Welcome to WeCounsel Mental Health Counselling & Therapy. My name is Saleha Choudhury, and I am a BACP Accredited counsellor and psychotherapist. I provide a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space where adults can explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences. Whether you are struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, or relationship challenges, I am here to help you find resilience, clarity, and growth.

As a Muslim female counsellor with Bengali heritage, I bring both professional expertise and lived experience to my work. I understand how cultural, religious, and family dynamics can deeply shape your well-being, and I welcome clients from all backgrounds and faiths, including Muslim, Christian, Hindu, Sikh, Jewish, Buddhist, and non-religious clients. My own journey of overcoming depression and anxiety through natural and holistic approaches has shaped the way I support clients: with empathy, authenticity, and hope.

My Approach

I am a humanistic and integrative counsellor, which means I draw on a wide range of evidence-based approaches to meet your unique needs. These include:

-
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) – for managing unhelpful thoughts and behaviours.
-
Schema Therapy – to understand and heal deep-rooted patterns.
-
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) – helping you live a values-based life.
-
Person-Centred Therapy – providing a compassionate and non-judgmental space.
-
Psychodynamic and Humanistic approaches – exploring how past experiences influence present struggles.
-
Mindfulness and Walk-and-Talk Therapy – grounding you in the present moment and connecting with nature.
This integrative approach allows me to support a wide range of concerns, from low self-esteem, confidence issues, and work-related stress, to relationship problems, bereavement, and cultural identity challenges.

My Training, Qualifications & Experience
I hold strong academic and clinical training to ensure you receive professional, high-quality care:

Alongside my qualifications, I have valuable experience working in specialist organisations:

-
Volunteering with a Black and Ethnic Minority community organisation, working with clients experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma, divorce, and self-harm.
What It Means To Be BACP Accredited
Being a BACP Accredited Counsellor means more than just being registered. Accreditation is a recognised mark of quality, showing that I have achieved a high level of training, clinical experience, and ethical practice. It demonstrates that my work has been rigorously assessed by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), ensuring I maintain continuous professional development, supervision, and accountability. For you, this means reassurance that you are working with a trusted professional committed to safe and effective therapy.
